Hi,

GLC-T SFP in SFP Module Port supports 10/100/1000 Mbps speed or Auto and its copper (UTP Cat 5e/6).

Check this link for SFP Compatibility Matrix http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps4999/products_tech_note09186a00807a30d6.shtml

Dandy

Hi !

Thanks for you fast response.

But I can not find anything saying that a

1000BASE-T SFP supports 10/100/1000.

I can not even set it to 100

xxxx(config-if)#speed ?

nonegotiate Do not negotiate speed

xxxx(config-if)#speed

best regards

Hans

Hi,

Your command output looks like from the "SFP module port" without 1000BASE-T SFP module or undetected.

Also, depends in you connection. See the "Configure SFP" part of the link that I post earlier, for your convenience here it is http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps4999/products_tech_note09186a00807a30d6.shtml#config

It says...

"You cannot configure speed on SFP module ports, but you can configure speed to not negotiate (nonegotiate) if connected to a device that does not support autonegotiation. However, when a 1000BASE-T SFP module is in the SFP module port, you can configure speed as 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps, or auto."

What is your switch model and IOS version? What is the port type and speed in the other end of the cable? Can you post "show ver" and "show inventory" output?

Thanks,

Dandy

Hi,

I understand that you are using 7604 and the 1000BASE-T SFP Transceiver is plugged to WS-X6724-SFP.

1000BASE-T SFP Transceiver supports 10, 100, or 1000Mbps speed only on the Cisco Catalyst 2970, 3560, and 3750 Series Switches.

You can use autonegotiate if the device in the other end of the cable supports autonegotiate.

Regards,

Dandy

Hi !

The other device does support Auto-Neg - but only 100Mbit :)

are you sure ? where did you find that info ?

that 10/100/1000 is only supported on 2970,3560...

thx

hans

Hi,

In the link that I provided to you. Please read the document (top to bottom), its very informative.

Dandy
