Does CCM 4.1.3sr5d support the 1861 router as a MGCP gateway? We have installed the latest device package which does not add support. When trying to add the gateway 1861 is not in the drop down list.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

the 1861 is very new and not all the packages can have been updated. Configure as if it was a 2801 and it would work anyway.

Alternatively, use H.323 and you don't need to specify any type.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Yes i have it configured as a h.323 gateway. Would the update to include the 1861 be in a device package or a service release/patch?

Thanks.

My guess is that it should, but you have to ask cisco.

According to the Call Manager development group, CUCM 5.1(3), 6.1 and 7.0 will support 1861 as a MGCP gateway.

There will be no support for the 1861 in CUCM 4.x.
