What's the command to switch between the active and standby supervisor cards on a 4500 series switch?

Hi

The "redundancy force-switchover" command conducts a manual switchover to the redundant supervisor engine. The redundant supervisor engine becomes the new active supervisor engine running the Cisco IOS image. The modules are reset.

Hope this helps

Martin

What happens when I issue that command but the redundant supervisor is in "Cold" mode? I'm looking for the shortest downtime when upgrading code on a 65xx switch with dual sup720's? I loaded the new code on the slavedisk0:, and do a "hw-module mod x reset" to make sure the redundant sup720 boots OK, and it comes up in Cold Mode.

Should I then do a "redundancy force-switchover" or a "warm boot disk0:*.bin" to get the primary supervisor on the same code with the least amount of downtime?
