Connecting Switches

Unanswered Question
Jan 16th, 2008

Hi I am studying for CCNA. I have 2 1900 switches and 2501 router. (Not the best option but cheap) I am trying to run and trunk line beween my switches. I used a crossover. Setup VTP, vtp domain, password, vtp mode server and vtp client one the other switch. Default gateway and ip address has already been configured. I am using the default VLAN 1 on both switches. I else am missing.

Thank you

I have this problem too.

I found that article before and I follow them. That's why I was able to get where I was. I forgot to mention one little detail. My two switches are in different subnet. Does that make a difference? If it does that will solve the proble. Otherwise, I will start again from the beging.

I will follow all you advice?

By the way, I was trying to create a subinterface on a router 2501, and after I try to enter the IP, I got an error something like refering to ISL, 802.Q or IEEE, I will give you exact error when I see it again.
