Hi

1. Weighted fair queing(WFQ) is flow based ,ie classification is done for a flow.

whereas,CBWFQ is classified based on MQC.Hence that gave a more modularity in selection of type of traffic.

2.WFQ uses max of 4096 queue ,while CBWFQ has got 64 with one as a default queue.

3.CBWFQ has drop policies like tail drop and WRED,while WFQ uses tail drop.

I think its better to go for CBWFQ b'cas these adv.

lets hear for more points...

hi,

WFQ uses 256 queues by default. The number of queues can be configured in the

range between 16 and 4096 (the number must be a power of 2).

WFQ uses automatic classification. Manually defined classes are not supported.

Where as in CBWFQ you can classify the traffic and can have more control.

But the selection solely depends on your recquirements and the type of the traffic.

HTH,

regards,

shri :)
