Hi @ All,
the switch command âSwitch(config)#boot enable-breakâ doesn't work. I've tested it on several Switches and it doesn't work for all models. The following list shows the result of my tests. The two first switches are working. The other three models don't work.
I am trying to recover the switches remote through access servers and have no opportunity to press the mode button. Therefore I'm trying to do it by software with this command. All tests are made directly via console, so that the access servers are not the problem.
The "show boot" command output indicates that the function was enabled on all tested switches,
>> sh boot
>> Enable Break: yes
My questions are:
1. Is there a possibility to solve this problem?
2. Is there any other solution to recover the switches without pressing the mode button?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Use boot manual global configuration command for enabling the manual boot process. For the switch to boot automatically, the manual boot feature must be disabled.

Hi, this works but doesn't solve my problem.
Cause i didn't want that the switch boots into ROMMON after a reload or a power cycle automatically. Instead i want to have only the opportunity to interrupt the reload by pressing the "Break" Sequence and force the switch to start in ROMMON.
On 2 of the 5 swicthes listed above this works fine but with the same configuration on other switch models it doesn't work:
