Hello,

Does anybody knows which exact MIBs and OIDs are required to configure on Cisco routers to give all necessary data to MRTG application?

Regards,

JM

JM-

MRTG queries OID's on the router. These OIDs are native to IOS and you do not need to configure anything (other than SNMP). If you are looking to monitor something out of the ordinary, post it and we'll see if we can help find the OID.

HTH and please rate.

Thanks for your reply, but we do not want to give our client full access to SNMP RO.

We provide managed services but our client wants to monitor our service with MRTG (IP VPN service with Cisco routers). We want to configure restricted SNMP access for our client that provide only data for MRTG with no access to other statistics and SNMP data.

That is why I need specific MIBs and OIDs.

Regards,

JM

on the router, you can configure snmp with certain view MIB and give access to customers.

With this, you give access to customers with

"restricted" MIB view and nothing the whole

thing

CCIE Security

Just as medan suggested SNMP View will accomplish restricting your clients while allowing you full control of SNMP.

Hi,

To allow the customer to only access to limited MIB use SNMP VIEW http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094489.shtml

GETIF is a SNMP utility to find out the OID of specific SNMP devices http://www.wtcs.org/snmp4tpc/getif.htm
