3845 with HWIC-2FE

Hi,

I have this card installed onmy 3845 running version 12.4(18). But this card fails to show up.

here is what I found in a show tech.

any ideas?

Since these are new, they are typically not supported in mainline yet. It's usually stated in the datasheet what IOS version to run, but I don't see it. I did find one IOS version though: 12.4(11)XJ. Can you try this code and see if the card is then working properly? You could also open a TAC case and they'll be able to tell you what versions will work.

12.4(11)XJ is the only version of code that supports the HWIC-1FE and 2FE, nothing newer or older. I have no idea why this is.

Try installing a T train image. Looking at the compatibility matrix, it seems 12.4(24)T5 supports those cards.

Not steal the thread here but I'm having the exact same issue with that card and my 2821 & 1841 routers. Would that version work for these routers as well?
