Hi,

If you restore a Ciscoworks backup file, upto what extent does it able to restore on your Ciscoworks configuration? Can it restore archived configurations, IOS from software repository, topology map, and groupings on DFM?

Appreciate your help on this matter. Thanks!

A backup stores all application databases; archived configurations and SWIM images for RME; and topology information for Campus. Yes, custom groups for all applications will be restored.

Jclarke, what exact files/folders do I need to copy over to a replacement CW/LMS server for the restore process? I see .tar files but am not sure what and where everything is backed up to. What should I be looking for exactly?

thanks!

If your backup generation number was 0, then copy the entire 0 directory to the new server. You should consider compressing that directory to prevent problems with the transfer.
