Hello, I'm trying to bring up L2TP on a 2801 router running 12.4(15)T1. I have an XP machine that successfully connects and works perfectly but a Vista machine on the same home network won't connect and gives an immediate Error 789 connection attempt failed. I had TAC on the phone working on this but when we got the XP machine working I was tired and figured I'd look at Vista later - I've done the requisite Googling but don't see anything relevant. Anyone have a clue?

Try deleting the security-assocations timeout value i.e remvoe the statements crypto ipsec security-association lifetime seconds

The router in question is running 12.4(15)T1.
According to Cisco TAC: "this issue should not happen in 12.4(9)T or 12.4(11)T and state the issue is fixed in 12.4(15)T2 and 12.4(17.8)T releases".
I have not yet tested.
