Error message on booting up 3550 switch

Hi,

My Cisco 3550 switch is booting up with the following error message:

!!! Warning the switch is not usable !!!

It does not list a reason

It then goes into Rommon, what are the possible causes of this error message. The switch is a WS-C3550-24PWR-SMI

Perhaps if you posted all of the messages sent to the console during the boot process we might have a better insight into the problem. I would think that the most likely cause of this error message would be a hardware problem with the supervisor. I would also guess that a problem with flash which prevents booting might also cause a similar problem.

In either case the thing to do is to open a case with Cisco TAC about the problem.

Hi ,

switch off the 3550 switch and coonect console cable to the sswitch.

Try to capture all the console messages after turning on the switch.
