Every method filters using it's own technique. What is important is their sequence, which is reversed for outbound and inbound updates.

On Inbound:

On Outbound:

1. Distribute list

2. Route Map

3. Filter list

4. Prefix List

From the other routing process inside the router:

1. Filter List

2. Distribute List

3. Default Weight

4. Filter-list weight
