Bpdufilter in global config mode

If you enter the command:

spanning-tree portfast bpdufilter default

Is it correct that this enables BPDU filtering for all portfast configured ports on the switch?

I'm working through a BCMSN test exam, which claims on more than once that:

"If BPDUs are received by a port configured for PortFast, then PortFast is disabled and the BPDUs are processed normally."

I am sure this is not correct. Can anyone confirm?

I have this problem too.

Hi Dave

Yes if you enable bpdufiltering globally wiht the command you use it will apply to all portfast enabled ports.

Bpdufiltering behaves differently whether it is enable globally or per port. In global mode if a port receives a BPDU then it ceases to be a portfast port and BPDU filtering is turned off. The port then particpates in STP as normal.
