Can't configure 1720 for PPP over Frame

I have been trying to configure a 1720 router to connect to my clients ISP and can't seem to get it to take several commands. the router is a 1720 running 12.4(17a), it doesnt recognize "mmi" or "ppp route default" for the sub int-face. does anyone have any ideas?

I have attached the sample config given by the ISP.

The command would be "ppp ipcp route defalt".

mmi would be "modem management interface" and does not apply to you model.

What else is not working for you ?
