SNMP Trap problem!

We have a primary DSL connection and a backup modem connection. As soon as primary fails, modem dials out. Under this situation we want backup interface (dialer) to send a trap regarding it own status with itself as source of the trap. Currently its not sending any traps regarding its own status. We cannot use "snmp-server source-interface" in the configuration because of some limitations. Any experts here?

hi! what ios and router model?

on the dialer interface, check if this command is available

snmp-server enable traps snmp linkup linkdown

The router will send a trap once the link status changed.

The problem is that the dialer interface does not send a trap regadring its own status, but it does send the subsequent traps!
