Hi all,

I finished CCNP & CCVP in 2006/2007, now I am pursuing CCIE Voice & CCIE Routing/Switching.

Which one should I take first (so that it will be easier when I take 2nd one) ?

Your comment is highly appreciated.

You're doing both at once? Holy crap.

I personally went CCNA -> CCNP -> CCIE R&S, then did the CCVP. I would say do which ever one you are most familiar with first. That way, you can get a feel for the written and lab formats with the material you know best.

Wow, you already passed CCIE R&S. Good for you.

Do you think it would be easier to pass CCVP after you did the CCIE R&S?

As routing & switching is the foundation of network, it is kind of "must-have" skill.

And voice is kind of " nice-to-have" skill.

What do you think?

I think there was very little overlap between CCVP and CCIE R&S. The only thing that really overlapped was QoS. I prefer to study one "thing" all the way through. I personally would not have done CCNP -> CCVP -> CCIE R&S or CCVP -> CCNP -> CCIE Voice.

Which one are you currently more involved with at your job? That might help make your decision.

Currently I am more involved with cisco IPT system. Sometimes I think MCSE is more needed.

Thank you for your comment, James.
