Redundant Boot Sequence

Hey guys,

I'm having some trouble setting up redundant booting for my 6500 switches. I have the image stored in both sup-bootflash and disk0 and add boot system flash command for each as below:

boot system flash sup-bootflash:s72033-jk9s-mz.122-18.SXD.bin

boot system flash disk0:s72033-jk9s-mz.122-18.SXD.bin

If I then delete the image from sup-bootflash then it doesn't boot.

Has anyone experienced this - am I doing something wrong?

I've done further testing and it still doesn't work whichever way around I do things.

However, when it goes into ROMmon if I just do a simple reset it then boots from the secondary place as I would want it to.

Of course the reason for me doing this is so that if anything happened to the first image it would automatically look for the second one..

Can it be done?
