CCME: Caller ID shows "911" on Unknown number calls from PSTN

Hello,

System is 2821 with 1 VIC2-2FXO for PSTN access running CCME 4.2.

PSTN Caller ID works fine when it is sent from the CO, whether it is shown or restricted "Private Number". But in some cases, "911" shows up on the screen. A test phone shows "Unknown number" instead of "Private Number". What would be the cause and how can I debug this in the console?

Thanks.

That would be "debug vpm signal" with "term mon".

But when you don't get a number, it means the caller-id reception has failed, and display it's picking some DP tag or destianion-pattern number that you have in config.

If you send the DP config, some workaround can be suggested.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Found the bug - when the CO doesn't send a CLASS message at all, the ISR matches it to the first plausible dial-peer - which was 911 in my case *blushes*

I fixed it by moving 911 to another dial-peer number and adding a dummy dial-peer for inbound pots calls as DP #1, works great now
