Unified Workspace Licensing is a new, easy, and affordable program for procurement of a broad range of Cisco Unified Communications applications and services that help organizations maximize the potential of unified communications. Including licensing, service and support, and software subscription, Unified Workspace Licensing facilitates successful deployment of multiple applications to all users in their workspaces.

Do you have access to Cisco Configuration Tool?

https://tools.cisco.com/qtc/config/jsp/configureHome.jsp

CUWL comes in two flavours (Standard and Professional) and covers nearly everything Unified i.e phone licenses, CUCM, Presence, Voicemail etc

This link should help you:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6882/ps9156/product_solution_overview0900aecd806cc7a4.html

cheers ive worked it out now

Just as a follow up for anyone searching on this.

You purchase hardware servers and CUWL USER licenses (standard or pro).

One standard license entitles you to:

- One IP Phone (any type phone)

- One VM (only) user

- One IP Communicator

- One mobility profile

- One presence profile

- and maybe some other stuff now. Keeps changing.

One Professional license entitles you to:

- Unlimited IP Phones for that user. (I think it must the the same directory number.)

- A VM or UM unity box.

- One IP Communicator

- One mobility profile

- One presence profile

- A CUMC client

Every 25 PRO CUWL licenses you buy gives you a MeetingPlaceExpress audio port + web + video ports.

As of December 2007 or around there, you have to order at least 100 CUWL licenses. Used to be 250 minimum.

I don't remember if you have to order the CallManager server license or if that was included.

SO when you get CUWL, you get all software and PAKs. You decide what hardware servers you want to buy, for example. If you want to install CUP, buy a CUP server. If you won't, then don't.

The more applications you use per CUWL license, the more economical the license becomes. If you are only going to use a CCM and Unity UM license, and NEVER anything else, let's say, then CUWL will be more expensive. If you are thinking about adding on CUP, IP communicator, MeetingPlace Express, etc, etc. Then CUWL is COOL.

IS it possible to get a trial version of the software?

Thank you ,

Zeek

Of what?

If you are a Cisco reseller, you can order the NFR kit for a decent price.

If you are an end-user. Talk to your Cisco account rep for what your needs are.

If you are not affiliated with anyone, then probably not.

i'm interested in how can we use this promotion,

we already have Cisco Unified Communication Manager 6.1 BE with MCS-7828 and want to install all other Cisco UC Apps from CUWP.

Is it posible to use an existing Communication Manager and upload licences from CUWP on him.

And install other apps on other server with licences uploaded on our CUCM-BE?

Thanks in advanced for replays!

All your answers should be yes. You have to have over 100 users (CUWL terminology USER may not mean PHONE because a user can have more than one phone (or other devices)

It is best to contact your Cisco account rep to discuss the options in detail. CUWL is not always as easy as, say, picking up a software box on a shelf and saying "Cool, I have CUWL now."
