What are the modes available for WPS capable wireless device?

WPS is supported only in infrastructure mode , not in Adhoc mode.

what i mean are the following modes which I really have no idea in depth:
WPS PIN mode
WPS PBS mode
and I'm not sure if there are still other modes and how they operate.
