Etherchannel LACP Master in bundle ?

Hi,

I am not understanding the concept of Master in the bundle with reference to Etherchannel and LACP.

I have configured two 3550 switches for Etherchannel LACP with a channel-group 1 and set my 3 ports on each end to 'active'. The Etherchannel is working, no problem. However, when I 'show etherchannel detail' every port in the etherchannel on both switches is 'Mstr In-Bund'. Can anyone help to explain why none of the ports are slaves ? I have tried manipulating port-priorities with 'lacp port-priority' but to no avail.

Regards,

Phil.

Hi,

I've had another thought about this and was wandering if the 'Mstr In-Bund' concept relates to when you have more than 8 ports configured in an Etherchannel and these ports go into a 'backup' mode for the instance were one of the first eight fails. Unfortunately I cannot test this as I don't have nine x-over cables.

Regards,

Phil.
