I'm setting up a Cisco 1400 Bridge in a test lab. The devices are about 6' apart and they are communicating ok (I can ping across the bridge) but performance is really bad. Is that because they are so close or do I have some other issue?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi John,
They likely are too close. Have a look at the great ideas from Brad in this recent thread;
Hope this helps!

Hi,
You can use bridge calculation utility provided on cisco.com .. to calculate what would be the signal strength .. by providing the information about ..
*type of antenna u r using
* Distance between the device
* Other requested information
Here is a link
Incase, if you are not able open ..
Open www.cisco.com ..
Search with keyword "Bridge calculation" .. open link for Br1400
Hope this will help ..
Please rate .. if you find useful so that other can also take benefit of this forum ..
Thanks

Just add on above lines .. i missed it.. wireless performance depends on signal strength ..
If u get good signal strength then performance will be good ..
low signal -- slow performance ..
Thanks again
