Yes you can do this and it will be fine. The vtp transparent switch have it's own vlan database so if you add a vlan to your VTP server the client will pick it up but if you want it on the VTP transparent switch you will need to add it manually.

Yes you can though normally you should set each end as transparent . If one is a client and you don't have a switch in server mode you will not be able to create or delete vlans on that switch . If there is not a reeason to have it as client change it to transparent mode.
