No Startup-Config

Unanswered Question
Jan 27th, 2008

Dear all,

I've just been playing around with my lab switch, following a command "erase startup-config" from Wendell Odom's book I've not been able to pass "copy run startup".

Switch: 2924M-XL running IOS 12.0(5)WC17,release software (fc1)

Any help will be much appreciated.

Your question is a little unclear (to me anyway...)

What are you trying to do?

Usually, if you're looking to take the switch (or router) back to factory config, you'd erase the startup config and reload. When it tells you that the config is unsaved and askes if you want to save it, you should say "NO" ... since saving the config will put you back to where you were before you erased it.

OR are you having operational problems after you erase the config?

Let us know ...

Good Luck

Scott

You'll also want to consider deleting the vlan.dat file from flash. The file contains your vlan info and will still exist after erasing the config.
