Hi all,

Is there any way to enable root access on the CCM 5.X server ?

Thanks a lot.

I am fairly sure that Cisco does not allow root (OS level) access to CCM 5.x servers. If root access is needed, you have to go through TAC to get a temp password setup.

Hope this helps, if so please rate post.

To confirm the previous message

TAC only provides root access for troubleshooting purposes (if needed, rarely used for this) and in order to apply workaround for bugs (most common scenario).

If you're hitting a bug which mentions requires root access contact TAC and let them know the bug ID, if they confirm it, they will create the account but most probably establish a webex session and log in themselves, so far i haven't seen TAC provide the user/pwd to a end users since any change that is not required into the linux core could mess up the system

hope this clarifies this for you
