Turning on 'mls qos enable'' in 6500 native IOS.

This 6500 is running IOS 12.2(18)SXE3 and is a distribution layer L3 switch with many unlinks to core and access layer 6500s. I need to enable mls qos in order to apply a service policy for qos on some interfaces. Two questions:

1. Will enabling mls qos interupt traffic through the 6500 at all - even briefly?

2. After enabling mls qos, what is the default behavior of the switch - will it trust DSCP/COS markings, or will it re-write them to zero?

Hi

1) No, you should be fine.

2) Default is all ports are untrusted.
