I have a need to ring an analog phone as part of a hunt group. All voice gateways are running H323 configuration. Have been thinking about configuring MGCP (bind to different interface) on the router simply to enable control of one FXS interface even though the router is using H323 for all call routing with Communications Manager 5. Is this possible? Has anyone done this?

Yes, MGCP can coexist with other protocols in the same router. I think that you don't even need to bind to another interface, as the CM is smart enough to distinguish what is what.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

in order to allow CUCM to take control over the FXS port do a regular MGCP configuration, if you configure
ccm-manager config server 172.16.240.124
ccm-manager config
then when you create the config in CUCM all the proper commands would be created for the gateway
if not just make sure to create a dial-peer pots in which you choose that voice port and enable the control by typing application mgcpapp, without that command CUCM won't be able to take control of the port
if you need a whole example look at
