SPAN on Routed Port

Hi,

I have read through the BCMSN Study Guide and Cisco.com product guide on ISR 3825 and that it supports SPAN on both routed and switchports.

I have a NM-16ESW on the 3825 but I hit a brick wall when I tried to SPAN a routed port with error message:

Interface FastEthernet0/8 does not support SPAN

Please, unconfigure it.

Does SPAN actually support routed ports or is it not supported in add-on modules?

my show run int fa0/8:

!

interface FastEthernet0/8

no switchport

ip address 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0

end

You can configure multiple SPAN or RSPAN sessions with separate or overlapping sets of SPAN sources. Both switched and routed ports can be configured as SPAN sources or destination ports

Hello,

That sounds good, please can be more clear? In this case, what's gone wrong?
