CSS reboot

Hello

Does anybody have CSS (11501-S, 11503-S) rebooted with no reason?

We have 3 or 4 (out of 20 smth) rebooted suddenly during last 2 years, in different locations.

TAC cases gave a little

The version is the latest Safe Harbor available, 8.10.2.5

I found this one

http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&forum=Data%20Center&topic=Application%20Networking&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Dpass_through%26location%3Doutline%40%5E1%40%40.1ddca4c6/0#selected_message

In our cases there is no core and no reboot reason showed up

I see that new Safe Harbor is undergoing testing since Nov 2007, is there any ETA?

Thank you

Alexander

Hi Alexander,

You said that the CSS rebooted many times in last 2 years but did not save any core dump file.

Did you verify dumping is enabled on those CSS, you can do this:

show dump-status.

With regards to the SAfe Harbor, honestly I think no new codes are posted on that part but newer maintenance releases contain fixes for many defects, latest is 8.10.401.

Also did you check the sys.log and looked for the time the CSS rebooted? if so any logs showing up there?

Hope it helps!!

Can I ask you in regards of versions and releases,

is 8.10.401 "improved" Safe Harbor?

To stay where we are and wait for next Safe Harbor was what we were told by TAC.

Will check dump status,

thank you

Alexander
