MGCP with server config and no dial-peers

Answered Question

When mgcp config is downloaded from CCM, is there a need for the (pots) dial-peers anymore? The MGCP gateway is 3845 router with 12.4 IOS and the CCM has version 5.1. The router has eight T1 PRI ports (to PSTN) but the CCM has not created any dial-peers for the voice ports. Do I need to create them manually?

The calls from/to PSTN seem to be working (there are small issues though).

I have this problem too.

PRI ports won't show up as dial-peers on the router.

Analog POTS FXO's and FXS's usually do have dial-peers like below:

dial-peer voice 999010 pots

service mgcpapp

port 0/1/0

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your reply. If I understand correctly, if ccm config is used AND if "isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager" is present under serial port, there is no need for dial-peer (which would bind the respective voice-port to mgcp).

However, from what I know, in all Cisco docs presenting "manual" mgcp config, the dial-peer(s) binding the voice-port(s) to mgcp is always present.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
