Thanks for that;
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 3750G a 12 port switch with no 10/100baseT capability?
thanks

That is correct it does not have 10/100 port.

Am I correct in saying that it only has 12 fibre connections? Is there a 3750 that allows 24 fibre connections?
thanks

No, but there is a 3560 with 12 TenGigE ports. With the switch you can buy TwinGigE converter (if you buy it with the switch - all 12 of the are for free!), and buy 24x Optical SFP modules.
Here is your option:
1. 3560E-12D http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps7078/prod_models_comparison.html
2. 12x Converters for free: http://cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps7077/product_data_sheet0900aecd805bbee3.html
3. 24x SFP modules for your optical connections:

Hope this helps

No 3750s have that. You'll need to get a 4500 or 6500 series switch. They have various line cards that can support that requirement.

Robert,
Not very big on design, but is it possible to get any 24 port gigabit ethernet switch and plug in 24 sfp's. Or is there some restriction on this?
thanks
