Hi,
How do ospf caculate the metric on vlan interface. My metric was 22 when my interface was a point to point L3 link. Now I have a L2 P2P link with 2 Vlan(2 VRF) and my metric is 40 ?
I have a mix a Channel and TenG interface, I need to control the metric...

Hi Dominic,
There are some ways to control the metric value in ospf.
1. There is also the "ip ospf cost" interface command.
2. you can change the numerator on the metric calculation formula by using the "auto-cost reference-bandwith" router config command (default is 100)
3. When you do summarization on the ABR's, you can use the "area x range ....... cost" router config command.
4. On redistribution you can use the "default-metric" router config command, or configure the metric under the "redistribute" command.
Cheers:
