Out-of-box, 6509 does not come with ATM interfaces, or any other "typical" WAN interfaces for that matter.
You'd need to install a WS-X6582-2PA which is essentially a "Port Adapter carrier", giving you 2 slots where you can install ATM Port Adapters into (same ones as those for Cisco 7200 routers).
