I don't know much about Meridian Mail, but if it allows you to export subscriber information to a CSV file, then you could use Unity Bulk Import to create subscribers on the Unity system based on the CSV file.
We did this on a lab setup from Octel to Unity and it was actually really slick. Once you determine the format that Unity is looking for in the csv, you can insert alot of users very quickly :)
