hwic-d-9esw-poe vlan problem

Unanswered Question

I have a switching module that is installed in a 2811 router. I am serving DHCP from the router and using access vlan 40 and voice vlan 400 for the phones. When the switching module ports are in trunking mode, the phones work fine but when a PC is plugged into the PC port of the phone, the PC's cannot access vlan 40 for data. When trunking is turned off on the ports and the PC's are plugged directly into the switch, they work fine. Does anyone have any experience with these switching modules that install in the router?? Help...Thanks in advance!

I have this problem too.

What is the port config for the switch module? Do you need to trunk to the phones , a lot of times you set it up as a normal acces port and configure a voice vlan on the port too .

Originally I had it set to:

switchport mode trunk

switchport access vlan 40

swithcport voice vlan 400

mls qos trust cos

spanning-tree portfast

Then I tried:

switchport trunk native vlan 40

switchport mode trunk

switchport voice vlan 400

mls qos trust cos

spanning-tree portfast

With this switching module, the only way it would work is by turning on trunking on the switchport. I have never had to do it this way in the past but this module is doing something funky!
