Hi

Return route means how do the packets get back to the source. So

client = 192.168.5.1

server = 172.16.5.1

The client sends a packet to the server. The server responds with a packet back to the client. The packet that comes back from the server is taking the "return route" to the client.

Best way to see the return route is to run a traceroute from the server to the client.
