I just upgraded a PIX 515e w/ 64MB RAM and 16MB flash from 6.3.4 to 7.2.2 and then to 8.0.3.
Here's the contents of my flash:
pix# dir
Directory of flash:/
3 d--- 384 09:16:26 Jan 30 2008 lost+found
7 -rw- 7280640 12:15:44 Jan 30 2008 pix803.bin
16128000 bytes total (4195328 bytes free)
pix#
I tried running "fsck" and it checks out fine. I'm trying to upload the ASDM file and "should" have enough space. The configuration is not long at all. Any ideas of what is taking up the extra supposedly empty space?

do this:
1- copy flash:pix803.bin tftp
2- format flash:
3- copy tftp flash:pix803.bin
Now you will have free space in the flash:
CCIE Security.

This is interesting, I tried to cd to the directory and it gives me an error. I also tried to delete the directory and it said it couldn't because its not empty. Any tips?
pix# rmdir lost+found
Remove directory filename [lost+found]?
Delete flash:/lost+found? [confirm]

I thought about that last night but wasn't sure if this could be done. So it is still OK doing the format while remotely connected via SSH right (since the OS is already loaded in memory)???
I appreciate the tip.

Worked like a charm. I was initially skeptical because the fsck ran clean and I wasn't sure if formatting remotely was safe or not.
