FailOver problem

welcomeccie

I have 2 Pix 525 .it works as Active/Standby .in my case the Active is the secondry and the standby is the primary Pix. we use Failover cable and stateful failover together .

the Sync/Failover is working fine but

When i configured subinterfaces on the inside of the Active pix(Secondry) and issued the write memory command on the Active ,the Syncronization failed and both of them become active .

When i removed the subinterfaces config and configured ACL or anything else the Failover process works fine.

Any Help Pls?

Regards,

Welcome

Hi,

I don't know what is the version you're running but please double-check FO configuration based on the following links:

*** For v6.x ***

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/pix/pix63/configuration/guide/failover.html

*** For v7.x ***

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa70/configuration/guide/failover.html

If everything seems to be ok, remove FO config and wipe out the configuration of standby PIX. Then configure FO back and do a "wr mem" and "wr standby" in order to copy the config from active to standby PIX.

That should work

thank you very much for your reply.I will try it and feedback you
