Hi,I ve multicast configured on 2 interfaces of ASA(no multicast router used)-with Multicast server(source) on one interface of asa and the client on another. The multicast works fine at first but becomes intermittent after sometime(stops and works again) for clients on the 2nd interface of the firewall.Clients on the same interface as multicast source are not experiencing this. Please help

Check if the output of "show igmp group" shows two receivers of that group on the two different interfaces. If not, do "show igmp interface" and see what is wrong. Also check that there should be at least one (*,G) entry in "show mfib". Follow the procedure to configure multicast properly:
a) Configure 2 *standard* access-lists, defining the groups. This is the same behavior as IOS.
b) Use "pim rp-address
c) When sending traffic, make sure that RP caches for all devices are consistent for that group.

Amrit,
Thanks for your help. Ive fixed the issue by adding a static entry on the client interface as bellow:
igmp join-group 2xx.yy.zz.1. Iam not using anyt RP.The multicast server is directly connected to FW interface while the Multicast clients are on another interface of the same box. Do i still require RP configs?
Kind rgds

The Cisco TAC has written an ASA Multicast troubleshooting guide that might help other engineers that run into multicast problems:
