I am trying to install Unity 4.2 ES132 post install audio prompt file. I do not know the "best" way to place this file into the application. Does anyone have experience or guidance on adding system prompt files?

The prompts are all just files in the Windows file system. I assume you are referring to AvSubMsgPlayENU426.wav?
Just find the file on your file system (typically under \Commserver\Localize\Prompts), back it up by renaming the existing file to something else (oldAvSubMsgPlayENU426.wav). Then copy in the new prompt. The change will take effect automatically.

would I need to update prompt.ini nformation as well?
my directory is:
D:\CommServer\Localize\Prompts\ENU\G711\AvSubMsgPlay
