I have a customer trying to setup an ipsec tunnel with me and they are not sure if their device will support it and to be honest, i'm not sure either, but I am leaning towards no. I need a better answer than my gut feeling though.
Here is the output of their show ver:
ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.4(13r)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Cisco 1841 (revision 6.0) with 114688K/16384K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID FTX1104W0CS
2 FastEthernet interfaces
1 Serial interface
WIC T1-DSU
DRAM configuration is 64 bits wide with parity disabled.
191K bytes of NVRAM.
31488K bytes of ATA CompactFlash (Read/Write)
If this device is capable of IPSEC VPN, what do they need? OS Upgrade, addon card, its already capable, etc.
Thanks a ton! :)

Can you post the complete output of "show version". We need to know what is the actual version that the router is running and more importantly the feature set. Without the above two information it is hard to way what is and not supported in this chassis.
Please do post the complete "show version" output from the router and we will take a look at it and assist you.

Arul

For IPSEC support you need another IOS Image.
Currently you are using : c1841-ipbase-mz.124-1c.bin
To enable IPSEC support you need to install an image with security for example the a
c1841-advsecurityk9-mz image.
