While configuring Airo net / linksys is it possible to configure ieee 802.1x. Which can be configured on wondows Wireless adaptor. does this 802.1x is only used for uthentication or it is used to encrypt / decrypt all traffic.

Aironet can be configured as 802.1x supplicant in order to authenticate itself to root AP.

Hello,
802.1X (capital X), is used for authentication. However, you would select an EAP (802.1X) and a WPA flavor (WPA1 TKIP or WPA2 AES) for encryption.
