Connecting a modem to 2811 with VIC2-4FXO

Is it possible to connect a modem to one of the ports on a VIC2-4FXO or are these ports used for connecting POTS line. We currently use these cards to connect POTS line and we route outbound locally calling to these POTS lines. Would it be a seperate dial-peer? Would it be configured in Call Manager? We are using the ATA today to connect this Cash Advance modem device.

You need a FXS port to connect the modem to the router. The ATA presents a FXS interface to the modem. FXO ports do not provide battery feed - this comes from the telephone exchange which is a FXS side device itself.

If you put FXS ports on the router you can control them from the CallManager.
