We are running CME 4.1 and when some users are on the phone they are getting a ringing in their ear. Is there a way to disable this or what would be a better way to set this up. Below is an example of how the phone is setup:
ephone-dn 14 dual-line
number 3051
pickup-group 123
call-forward busy 3002
call-forward noan 3002 timeout 20
ephone 8
mac-address xxxx.xxxx.xxxx
type 7941
button 1:14 2o20,11,12,13
This phone is being monitored by the receptionist using a 7914 module.

Hi, that should be call waiting, user look at the display and if he likes can take the call.
If user doesn't want call-waiting,
ephone-dn xx
huntstop channel
And caller will get busy tone. This can also be done at ephone-dn-template level.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

can you changed the call waiting tone from rining to a beep?

Well, it should be a beep. I've never heard of a ringing over imposed on audio channel, what exact IOS are you running ?

Hi,
I believe that you can have ringing as a Call Waiting notification but this is not default behaviour...
Try issuing the following commands.
conf t
ephone-dn x
no call-waiting ring
call-waiting beep
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dave
