7911 and Asterisk (SIP)

Hi,

i was wondering if cisco 7911 phone could work on an Asterisk PBX (SIP mode)??

In Cisco Site the firmware for the 7911 to support SIP is used for upper versions of CCM 5.X, but there is no mention if the firmwares proposed are used to work with Asterisk or other SIP PBXs !!

Plz i need urgent help. Thx alot.

Yes, it can work.

Your best source of information is voip-info.org. Search for 79x1 asterisk, there are threads with commented configuration examples.

Thx for ur respond,

I have already seen this site talking about configuring Cisco Phones on Asterisk.

The problem is that Cisco doesn't mention such compatibility between Cisco 7911 phones and Asterisk or other IP PBX (SIP).

So Officially from Cisco Site there is nothing about Asterisk compatibility.

The firmware SIP of Cisco IP phone 7911 is compatible woth CCM !! and i don't know if the same firmware is valable for Asterisk (SIP).

Could u help me clearing this issue for me plz.
