Hi all,

I bought a NME-16ES-1G-P and put it in C3845 router, this module has its own flash memory and also it has it's own IOS, is there anyway to configure this module directly from the router not, or simply how can i control this module as another etherswitches who appears in router configuration, this doesn't appear :S.

Thnx in advance

I have this problem too.

You can configure it from the router, but it will not appear "in" the router. If you need a "dumb" NM-switch-module for some additional interfaces in your router config, you have to buy an ESW module, not an ES module. ES modules are always(?) running there own IOS.

This document explains the differences and lists a configuration example for your ES-type module:

If you just want to console into the module you can do this by using service-module command. Please look at the document linked above for further information.
