WAAS (WAE) Failing on SnapMirror Replication

WAE installed between two sites for NAS filer replication has failed during numerious attempts to kick off NetApp SnapMirror Replication. When we turn off TCP optimization, compression and application services the replication continues. Cisco CCIE looked at it and through his hands up. Is anyone troubleshooting WAE [WAAAS] discovering a possible problem/resolution similar to what is described?

Have you you noticed any large number of TCP ACKed Lost Segment, TCP Out-of-Order, TCP Retrans using ethreal.

Asa workaround. Turn on optimization.and Physically disconnect both filers at the HQS location and reconnect them to the inline cards on the WAE appliance.

I will be looking at traffic this week with wireshark to watch traffic.

Currenlty our WAE are connected inline.

I don't follow the workaround, if I disconnect the two filers from the inline WAE card then reconnect them to the inline card, how will I have a work around?
