please can anybody help me out with the commands to configure leased line on 1841

Hi,
Pls find the simple configuration of a leased line:
1.interface Serial0/0/0
2.description *** LEASED LINE ***
3.bandwidth 256
4.ip address x.x.x.x 255.255.255.252
5.encapsulation ppp
6.max-reserved-bandwidth 100
7.no shut
Description:
1. login to the particular interface (May be Serial/FastEthernet)
2. Set the description (Optional)
3. set the bandwidth
4. set the IP Address for you network.
5 Set the encapsulation method.
6. set the command to utilized the full bandwidth of the link. (Optional)
7. no shut. (Vital) to bring the interface up.
It's the simple configuration.

The 'bandwidth' command does NOT set the bandwidth of the interface. It is simply used as a routing metric and so is not required in this instance.

Hi Chris,
You are right, but please tel me one thing, if my service provider is giving me xy KBPS, then why it will not used? Its true that this parameter is use for routing protocol.

Hi,
Are you running multiple links to your ISP with dynamic routing? If not then it won't be used as it's just a way of influencing routing protocols.
