Hi Everyone,

I am looking at getting involved in CISCO networking and I am aiming to do my CCNA. I do some very simple CISCO stuff in my job at the moment, but it is fair to say that I have no prior knowledge, just a keen interest in it.

Can anyone recommend any courses, books etc that would be give me ann to all the prior knowledge required.

thank you for the help.

I have this problem too.

Yea, Todd Lammle is a good instructor. You ca use his study guide.

Contact him on

To begin studying cisco career you could begin with Cisco certified network Technician CCNET, Cisco Certified Network Associate CCNA then continue...

Look at NetworkWorld's website, Wendell, one of the more popular Ciscopress writers has done a series in his blog which shows the various equipment options to build a lab. The cheapest is ~$100 USD i believe... I think hands on would be an excellent choice.

Take a look at and select CCNA... they list several books to utilize in your learning. My local borders i noticed last weekend is carrying alot of the cisco network academy books. And naturally visit NetPros and ask questions... =]
