hi
we have a large network currently running on HP routers.
the design the we have two HP routers configured with two leased lines.
and between the core switch and router we have Cisco ASA5520.routers are configured with public IP address. As Hp doesn't support redundancy and load balancing management has decided to replace the router with Cisco. ours is a five start Hotel.
please suggest which router we need to choose.

What's the bandwidth capacity, and technology type, of your existing WAN leased lines? What type of routing would you being doing on these routers? Any expectations to upgrade bandwidth and/or services on these routers within the future?
PS:
Ballpark usage -
28xx series multiple T1/E1s
38xx series fractional or full T3/E3
72xx series OC3
There's also smaller and faster routers; also if using Metro Ethernet, Metro Switches.

hi joseph
we have leased line with 2MB capacity.
default routing is configured.
I don't expect the lines will be upgraded as it's already 2 MB.

Hi, if looking at new device, you can use a 1841 with a wic card. The specific depends by the leased line terminatio, best would be using E1 natively.

Paolo's recommendation of an 1841 is excellent. Very suitable for what you describe.
If you suspect you might want to do more with the router within the next 18 months, you could also go with the 1861 or the smaller 2800s, such as the 2801 or 2811.
